Velvet Top

Happy Thursday!  I have been dying to incorporate velvet into an outfit as it’s been such a trend this holiday season.  I love the look of a monochromatic outfit since it has the ability to be easily dressed up or down.  As soon as I found this top I could already envision it at a holiday party or a night out for dinner or drinks.  Velvet is so comfortable and I love that you can mix and match it in a variety of ways.  I opted for black jeans and heels but I could easily see this being paired with a dark skirt or with jeans and a leather jacket. read more

Potrero Hill

A friend told me about their favorite brunch spot in Potrero Hill called Plow.  As a San Francisco brunch connoisseur, self appointed of course, I had to try it out!  Living on the other side of the city I don’t find myself in Potrero Hill as often as I would like and was up for something new (plus I heard the lemon ricotta pancakes at Plow are to die for). read more

Favorite Fall Boots

Happy Friday!  I am loving the California fall we are having this year.  Chilly, crisp, and loads of beautiful sun!  I am lucky to be able to wear outfits like this into the season and still feel comfortable. read more

Jumping Into Fall

After a brief sabbatical from Chic Happens due to full on bridal brain, I am more than excited to jump back into things!  I will be posting about our wedding and honeymoon soon but want to just jump into what I have been up to most recently.  Over the past few weeks I have been collaborating with a local San Francisco landscape photographer who has been showing me new areas in the city to shoot.  Most recently, we went out for a day to explore one of the most beautiful areas of the city, Pacific Heights.   Fall has always been a favorite season of mine here in San Francisco and this day just happened to be one of those perfect fall days. read more

Before Kevin and I started dating I lived in a tiny little apartment in San Francisco’s Marina disctrict, which happened to be situated right next to an Urban Outfitters.  It was dangerous as I had to walk past their windowfront every day to get to my doorstep.  What I loved about Urban Outfitters is that I was always able to find a piece for every occasion.  Even though we don’t currently live as close, I still pop in to see what new pieces they have on display.  I found this racerback ribbed dress by Sparkle and Fade and knew I had to have it.  It comes in a few different colors but I love a rich olive color any day.  It’s not only super comfortable but it can easily be dressed up or down.  I see this being worn in the upcoming summer months with sandals or wedges, or even dressing it down with white converse and a jean jacket.  I’m sure I’ll be getting lots of use out of it.  Happy shopping xx
