Velvet Top

Happy Thursday!  I have been dying to incorporate velvet into an outfit as it’s been such a trend this holiday season.  I love the look of a monochromatic outfit since it has the ability to be easily dressed up or down.  As soon as I found this top I could already envision it at a holiday party or a night out for dinner or drinks.  Velvet is so comfortable and I love that you can mix and match it in a variety of ways.  I opted for black jeans and heels but I could easily see this being paired with a dark skirt or with jeans and a leather jacket.

I have my eye on a few other velvet pieces this season so I’ll keep you posted if any other outfits make their way home!

I have gotten a few questions on how I curl my hair.  For this look, I used a 3/4 inch Hot Tools Marcel curling iron and wrapped strands (*be sure to note I wrapped and not clamped) around in different directions to achieve this “messy look”.  This iron is really affordable and has lasted me years (details on the iron below)!
