Kevin and I spent this past weekend in Calistoga and let me tell you, it is in incredible place. Surrounded by nature, Calistoga is filled with countless wineries, shops, resorts and sunshine and we found it to be the perfect little weekend getaway from the city. I really enjoyed the more low-key aspect of Calistoga in comparison to Napa and Sonoma as we found places were never too packed and it was easy to navigate around town.
We were in town for a wedding and extended our stay so we spent most of our time at the Solage and Indian Springs resorts. Solage, where the wedding was held, is breathtaking and one of those resorts that you walk into and just go “ahhhh”. It’s beautiful, rustic and I’m already wanting to go back for another visit! Indian Springs (where most of the pictures are below) was by far our favorite though. This resort is all about that quintessential California style and has a really old school Hollywood vibe. We totally dug it. The pool, which I wish I had pictured, is huge and filled with natural mineral water. Because of this the temperature of the water is always warm, which was surprising, but was really relaxing even in summer weather.
We spent the rest of the weekend either on bicycles cruising around or walking around the adorable little downtown area grabbing a bite or some coffee. If you ever find yourself looking for an easy getaway weekend, I would highly recommend coming here. Calistoga is also known for their local mud baths (click here to read more) which we didn’t get to try so Kevin and I are already plotting our next visit this winter to check them out. If you have been before and have any local favorites I would love to hear them in the comments below!
